As the WHO raises the influenza pandemic status to phase 4 today, and "containment of the outbreak is not feasible" it is perhaps time to remind ourselves of the evolutionary motor of this public health crisis. The way in which we farm animals around the world for cheap meat, produced under industrial conditions, is speeding up the pathological evolution of viral strains that are a threat to public health. Factory farming may not be the only factor in the causal chain, but it does increase the chance that viral mutations can develop and spread.
What is the best thing to do under the circumstances? Avoid meat products, get loads of vitamin C and fresh air. Stay away from crowds and avoid all unnecessary travel. Let's hope that this does not become a major pandemic.

I share your hopes, and your concerns... and your wise suggestion to increase our Vitamin C intake!
Hi,
When and where are you moving in France? I'm moving in Sweden this summer.
I leave on Friday to a small village near Dijon.
