Had coffee and cake on a "pirate" ship in the center of Amsterdam today. Finding my land legs slowly. My buddy Mike is now a sea captain with a pipe and a seaman's hat. The view from the boat was awesome. This city can be quite magical at times. It was not quite like doing a U-turn with an oil tanker to bring Robert and The Lost Symbologist story to Amsterdam, but I was a tad nervous that my readers would wonder wassup. The rationale behind my thinking is that I am in Amsterdam, Amsterdam is an amazing city and I can now bring lots more detail into the story. While it is a work of fiction and still a satirical spoof, I plan to integrate real events into the plot. So the global lifestream will take the ship of symbology over the ocean of virtual and real reality. Social media input, in particular the Twitterverse, will be the main focus of Robert's adventures in Amsterdam, as he searches for clues to explain his trauma and his dreamworld. Posterous is proving to be an ideal platform for creative writing, as new features are rolled out that make the whole process even easier. Autopost makes posting more flexible and less time consuming. All the information about Amsterdam and events taking place in the city is real, so The Lost Symbologist can also function as an alternative online tourist guide. The timeline of the story is also real, making the plot dependent on the flow of breaking news and cultural activity...and blah, blah, blah. Enjoy!
